President: Steve Simala Grant
Steve Simala Grant has lived in Terwillegar Towne for five years, and is well-known to many of you already. Having served on the Board of the Terwillegar Community League for the past four years, the last two as its President, Steve is well-versed in the myriad issues that are important to our neighbourhood. He brings a wealth of experience in governance and project planning from his service on various boards and committees. No stranger to time-management, Steve juggles a busy schedule filled with volunteer duties, further education, an active young family and his work as a Pastor. His church is near the Valley Zoo, so don't even talk to him about the Quesnell Bridge! Traffic issues are just one of the many items on your President's radar.

Vice President: Dean Basara
"If you want something done, you had better do it yourself" is the philosophy that motivated Dean to join the Board. A three-year resident, Dean sees Terwillegar Towne as a unique environment which calls for a great deal of community spirit to sustain. Dean believes strongly in the TTRA, and volunteered with the hope of broadening the Board's mandate to become a stronger voice for the community, and address a wider range of issues. A solid background in communications and a degree in Political Science are strengths Dean brings to tackling the important issues ahead. Raised in a family who never saw a problem that couldn't be solved, Dean is proud to say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree ... and speaking of trees, Dean says he will not rest until his garden is so green it will be seen from space! Nothing like setting the bar high, right?

Vice President: Klaus Hoffmeier
Klaus recently celebrated his first year anniversary as a Terwillegar South resident. As well, he has celebrated his 35th anniversary as a husband; 30th, 28th, and 18th as a dad, and 55th as a son. Klaus brings a wealth of knowledge in business, construction, property management, and real estate to the Board, along with experience in community leagues, school administrations, and youth and mental health groups. Now kept occupied as an active real estate agent, trainer, mentor, and elder-care giver, Klaus looks forward to serving the TTRA and its members in whatever capacity he can.

Secretary: Lily Jian
With four children and a demanding schedule, Lily is no stranger to balancing responsibility and organization. Lily comes from an accounting background, and although this is her first time serving on a Board, she has been an active member in previous communities. In her free time, Lily is a avid reader and a enthusiastic gardener. As a new Director, she looks forward to exploring new insights and ideas, and her wish is to see our community continue to grow and blossom.

Treasurer: Mohammad Ashrafi
Mohammad Ashrafi has lived in T-Town for approximately four years with his wife and two daughters.  He has extensive education and experience in the field of accounting; he is currently working as an accountant with a large corporation and also manages a small business from home. Mr. Ashrafi enjoys his work very much, and as a board member of TTRA and the Treasurer, he is happy to volunteer his time and experience to better Terwillegar Towne. He believes our neighbourhood is a wonderful, safe place to raise a family; his goal at TTRA is to enhance this image even further.

Director at Large: Gilda Stalker
Gilda Stalker has been a Terwillegar Towne resident for five years, and takes an active interest in the community her family calls home. She takes on her role as a Director with both enthusiasm and a willingness to do whatever hands-on work arises. Currently, Gilda works at the University of Alberta, and her prior work experience was in an emergency room, which might come in handy in a household with four lively teenagers! From these varied backgrounds she offers a fresh perspective on topics at the board table, and triage tactics for sorting out the many tasks we have ahead.

Director at Large: Mureen Platt
Mureen discovered Terwillegar Towne three years ago, while she was traversing the city as a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. She fell in love with the neighbourhood’s unique character, and was especially delighted to see all the welcoming front verandas. Mureen found her own home in T-Towne a year and a half ago, and is loving it. Drawn to teaching, Mureen has twenty years experience in both early childhood and adult education, and also taught at Beauty Schools in Ontario and Alberta.

Director at Large: Joanna Altimas

Director at Large: Diane Motkoski
Drawn to Terwilleger Towne because of its character homes and front verandas, Diane Motkoski has lived in Terwillegar Towne for 6 years with a loving husband. She is currently an accountant working in public practice. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, fitness activities, and taking various classes. As this is her first experience on a board, Mrs. Motkoski is eager to share her new perspective and work towards a better Terwilleger Towne; she has truly loved living in our community, and serving on the Board is her way to be a part of making our community even better.
